My research expertise is in applied and computational mathematics, with a primary focus on applications in the life sciences. I am particularly interested in mathematical modeling of soft biological tissues in the contexts of tissue biomechanics, mechanobiology, biomedical imaging and tissue engineering. Technical areas of expertise include continuum mechanics (nonlinear elasticity, viscoelasticity, multiphase mixtures), applied partial differential equations, numerical methods for PDEs (BEM, FEM, finite difference methods) and unsupervised machine learning.
My educational interests include best practices for graduate training in the mathematical sciences, distance learning and effective use of technology in the classroom.
